Default Re: suggestions for snow near sacramento

Sacramento's in the valley so you're in all likelihood going to have to go east to the Sierra Nevadas...how far east will depend on the snowfall. There is the Sno-Park at Yuba Gap...it's a little over an hour away. Bad sign is that they're currently closed due to...lack of snow. Not a good sign, but they're not out of the snow season yet so they could get more. Keep them in mind, cause that's a good place for kids (if it's open). The big ski places like Boreal will have a greater likelihood and quantity of snow, and they also have stuff for kids, but it's also a lot more expensive and a bit more of a commute. March though can be a tricky time of the year for those places on the fringes of the mountain range, so you might want to prepare for a bit more driving.
