While it's true adventure can be found anywhere if you try hard enough, I don't know how "adventurous" California is. It's more of a laid back state meant to relax the body and mind, not risk it.

One thing I've been meaning to do before I lose the chance is skydive, but you can do that anywhere.

First adventure that comes to mind for me is the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona Spain. Now there's something you won't soon forget!
