hi! if you are going to spend 10 days in Argentina you would waste 2 days traveling by bus when you can enjoy them in the salta, tucuman or jujuy area... it is safe to travel by plane in argentina, the problem was related to the bad operation of the buenos aires airport radar... there are two airlines Aerolineas Argentinas and Lan Argentina. in the way from buenos aires to salta, if overlanding, you can stop in cordoba.
