i've been to carmel before, you're not kidding! there's also solvaine (what a snore). monterey is also great, when i used to live up in SF we took weekend trips down to monterey all the time. the water is so dark blue there!
have you heard anything about Hotel Del in San Diego? i haven't been, but i hear it's on an island of some sort. crazy. all the people at work boast about it, makes me want to go real bad.
