One of the most beautiful places in Europe is the Isle of Capri. I was there in the summer and there were a lot of tourists but I would think that in the off season it would not be so crowded. It may be too "touristy" for you but I feel the need to tell you a little about it. It rises out of the Mediterranean Sea and has the feel of a Mediteranean paradise with the blue water and white cliffs. We had a great time walking though the old villas and then stopping by a cafe/bar to try the ice cold lemoncilla that is made there. It is a wonderous place that I would love to revisit.
