Re: Chile and Argentina next November(07) Hi! As the previous post says, Chile is great and people is really friendly. My favorite destination in Chile is Torres del Paine in the southern Patagonia, next to Argentina's Perito Moreno Glacier (El Calafate). If I were you, I would start from Santiago de Chile to the north (Arica, Iquique and Atacama Dessert), cross by bus to Salta in Argentina and visit the region. If you are accostumed to travel by land, there is a bus going from Tucuman to Iguazu Falls. Travel the way south to Buenos Aires, have some days at leisure enjoying this amazing city and continue to Patagonia (Puerto Madryn, Ushuaia, Torres del Paine, El Calafate and El Chalten). You can then head north by Route 40 to Bariloche (Lake District), cross to Puerto Montt in Chile, continue your travels along Chile to Chiloe Island, Valdivia, Pucon, cross the border back to San Martin de los Andes in Argentina. Bus to Mendoza, spend some time enjoying the argentine wine region and travel back to Buenos Aires from where it's easy to catch a ferry and leave to Uruguay... Many people would love doing this trip... Weather won't be a problem from November to April...
