You're right, it is expensive to ferry to Ireland...I'd just go ahead and fly if I were you. I don't know of any specific cheap ways to ferry. Plus the last time I was needing to find stuff, flights from England to Ireland could be found pretty cheap. The ferry route isn't spectacularly interesting anyway, it's not like you'd be missing out on lots of sights. Sure it'd be a bit of a change of pace from the whole process of flying, but I don't think it'd be worth it.
The only thing that might change my mind would be the length of your stay and if you were going to rent a car in Ireland (after flying). The cost of that might be enough to close the gap. |
