Hi! I'm new here.
I'm interested in the comments by Lola and Ric. I was told that driving in Peru was not easy. I find this hard to believe as I've driven without issue in slightly wild places like western
Belize, Antigua, Ireland, Memphis, and -- worst -- Washington, DC :-D
I'm planning a Peru trip in December. We will likely be there 8-9 days. Cusco/Machu Picchu are on our "must visit" list. I'd like to go to some places once we get back to LIma. Any advice on getting around? Planes are not preferred. Trains are fine and cars are best. Can you easily drive from Lima to Cusco or to the north?
Thanks!
