Hi there! I promised to report on my experiences with an overstay in Brasil (got 90 day tourist visa but was late to extend it for another 90 and eventually overstayed without hence suppose to pay around $400!).
Well, it went really smooth! I flew from Manaus to SP and from there to London. No one bothered to ask me any questions at the check in. I waited 40 min before my take off and queued. After getting through the gates I realized it was the wrong queue i.e. for internal flights! Quickly run to the other one where I was the only person so went straight to the immigration officer desk and it was 20 min to my take off. He was chatting to a colleague and in the meantime scanned my passport. I noticed a page came up on a screen. It resembled my photo but am not 100% certain and didn't want to peek too much cause he'd get suspicious. He stamped my passport where my old entry/exit stamps are and let me go (I also flew in Dec until Jan last year for a holiday). I am changing my passport and will be going back on my return ticket to Manaus. Will let you all know how it went. Why do they complicate things for people who want to go and spend money there???
