Portland is also home to the World Forestry Center. The cute and friendly museum will explain the importance of the forest, which it's more important than you might think. It is designed to looked like a lodge in the forest. It's located in Washington Park, close to the Portland Children's Museum.
Did you know that the UN has declared this the year of the forest?
