Default Re: Miraflores is the touristic district of Lima-Peru

Ok, I am attaching some of the pictures. My area was only 5.3 in intensity, so it was only a huge scare... However, very close to Lima, it is Pisco, the city where the great licor Pisco was created many, many years ago. This city has been devastated. No churchs, 90% old houses down, since the epicenter was in front of this city. I have a very good friend family that lives in San Andres, in front to the ocean. They got 3 waves of 2 meters of heigh and lost all their things. Fortunately, the house was well builded, so they have a wet house and all the furniture spoiled as well as everything.
Pisco has an historic meaning because the General San Martin disembarked here when came to liberated from spaniers. Also, here was the place where he saw the beautiful birds that inspired him to define the colors of our flag.
The house where he arrived was a kind of museum. Now nothing is left.
Not only Pisco, it has being great damage to houses and everything in Chincha, Ica and Caņete.
People from Lima are used to go to these cities because you can go with your car, the wheather is much better, and the food is exceptional.
