Post Washington DC Sights

Hi All!

The Washington DC forum is now open. Feel free to ask your questions or answer some questions!

What are your favorite Washington DC Sights?

Personally, I liked the Vietnam Veterans Memorial done by artist Maya Lin. I didn't know anyone who was in that war but it was definitely a moving experience! What makes it more unique is that the veteran's names are in chronological order of death. Loved ones are able to leave photos, flowers, etc. Others use a paper and pencil to create a stencil of their loved one's name. It's definitely a must see!

Another interesting one is the National Archive. View some of the United States most valuable documents. The Declaration of Independence is housed here in a room that is not very well lit but still viewable under a glass.

Helpful tip: Do not use your flash inside the building. Security guards frown upon this. Also, do not bring large bags. They will be checking all bags at the security entrance.
