I want to plan a trip for a week so too much driving shouldn't be involved so we don't spend all our time driving. I'm trying to keep costs down because it will be four adults going (mom, dad, me and my sister).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't even know how to start an itinerary for a country I know nothing about. I've been to Berlin and Munich myself but I was on a tour bus so it really doesn't count!
Thanks!

Koblenz is a perfect destination for exploring the castles along the Rhine. We stayed at Hotel Mercure which was beautiful, a stone's throw from the Rhine and the boat cruises and very, very affordable. Maybe you could drive between Koblenz and The Black Forest Region (we stayed in Baden-Baden) but I think that you may have to fly into Frankfort which is right between the two. I loved Germany so much I am already planning a trip back.
