The mountains are breathtaking. It's about as close to God as one can be. If you love nature and beauty, you will love the Smoky Mountains. I wouldn`t say scary for a 8 year old I would say exiting, more likely. The Smoky Mountains are an incredible place to visit! It`s great to take kids to see this beautiful place before they grow up! Words cannot do justice to this place. You won't regret it.
