Hi Wildchild, I envy your trip!

Renting a car would be your best bet, given the flexibility it provides. All this can be done fairly easily via the Nice Airport. How long it takes to get from Nice to St. Tropez depends largely on the route you take, since traffic can be troublesome in that region, especially when the weather's warm ;) It's about 60 miles from Nice to St. Tropez in a car and Google predicts that trip to take about 1:40. Some people might not feel comfortable driving such a route in a foreign country, especially with the traffic concerns and headaches that might ensue.

So alternatively, under the "Access and Parking" link on the left of the page, you can click on the "Busses and shuttles" link and find the bus route to St. Tropez. The bus seems to take you to St. Raphael (~75 minutes), where you'll take a 50 minute boat ride to St. Tropez (more info on the port's website). So it looks to be about a 2 hour trip. Not as "posh" and flexible as your own car, though your partner might enjoy the boat ride. I'm not sure of your plans for after that day in St. Tropez though, so be sure to plan ahead if you'd rather get a one-way ticket or round-trip ticket since they apparently don't sell return tickets from St. Tropez.

Good luck with your trip and let us know how it goes!
