Re: Hotel du Champ de Mar I managed to find you a description of the hotel.
Ideally situated at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, in one of the most beautiful sections of Paris. Within walking distance from the Invalides, the Place de la Concorde, the Rodin Museum and the cobblestoned banks of the Seine, the Hotel du Champ de Mars offers a relaxed and family atmosphere all year round. Located in the 7th district, the hotel is just a few steps from the metro, several bus lines and the Air France shuttle bus.
The rue Cler market, one of the liveliest and best known in Paris is just around the corner from the hotel, and you will also have easy access to the peaceful paths in the nearby Champ de Mars gardens.
Our 25 rooms, both singles and doubles are attractive and comfortable, all with either bathtub or shower, direct dial telephone and satellite television. All are exceptionally quiet and calm. Two rooms on the ground floor look onto private flowered courtyards.
Mr. and Mrs Gourdal will do their utmost to ensure that your stay with them is successful, guaranteeing a warm, country atmosphere in the heart of Paris most prestigious neighborhoods.

I managed to find some reviews regarding this hotel and thought they might be of some interest to you.
This hotel is in a great location! The rue Cler is right next to the hotel and is a good place to mingle with locals with open markets and cafes. It is within a short walk to the Eiffel Tower, Napolean's Tomb, the Rodin Museum, and the American Church. The metro is also very close to connect anywere in the city. The hotel itself is very quaint. I have read about the owners being rude, but I did not find this to be the case at all. The staff did everything they could to accomidate our needs during our stay. We stayed in room #25, which overlooked the street. I would recommed an upper level room that overlooks the street if available. The rooms are small, but comfortable. I expected small rooms in Europe anyway. For the price (90 euroes per night), great location, and comfortable accomidations, I would recommend this hotel to anyone. If I ever travel to Paris again, I will definately return to this hotel!

We arrived at about 9:00 p.m. on Sunday the 6th and the check in process was a breeze. They simply handed us a key and sent us to our room. The hotel is incredibly close to the Eiffel tower and we immediately headed over to Rue Cler to grab a bite to eat and then over to Champ du Mars for a wonderful view of the tower bathed in snow flurries.
We stayed in a triple and though the room was small (double with a rollaway?) the beds were comfortable and the room/bathroom were extremely clean.
The hotel has an excellent location. Close to Champ du Mars, Rue Cler, Trocadero, and the Metro. I found this to be the perfect location from which to explore Paris and we will definitely return.
I've noticed that a few of people have had issues with reservations. That is unfortunate and will certainly effect their business if it continues. For my part, I confirmed via email after reservations had been made, confirmed 1 week prior to arrival via email, and arrived with reservation and confirmation printouts in hand. We didn't need the printouts and I don't know if it would have made a difference if we had needed them, but I felt that I had more ammunition should they contest the reservation.
Provided you don't have reservation issues, this place is a true deal in Paris.

All reviews i have read seem to suggest its a nice friendly hotel and as it is small and family run i think you will feel safe and taken care of.
