If you you're looking for a little more luxury there's also the Tanque Verde in Tucson - it's a beautiful area bordered by the Coronado National Forest and the huge Saguaro. They offer 2 rides a day and also overnight pack trips - and when you're finished on horseback you can also take classes in desert art.
