Re: Alaska Attractions Hunting is allowed on Kodiak, but like any other state, if you do not live there, you need to get an out of state license which can be expensive. You probably also need a guide. South east Alaska has a good population of Sitka deer, I don't remember when the season opens as it has been years since I lived there. As for things to do in Alaska where you can see animals and birds, the salmon runs are a great time of year for seeing bears and eagles in large groups.
