|  caverns in Alabama hiya, we'll be traveling to Birmingham Alabama and we'd like to visit some of the caverns in Alabama. What are our options near Birmingham? |

|  Re: caverns in Alabama hi there, One of the best options are DeSoto Caverns which are located in the Appalachian foothills less than 36 miles from Birmingham. The main cavern is more than twelve stories high, while the underground bit has a rock climbing wall, light and fountain show and a three-quarter acre trail maze. The other option is Rickwood Caverns State Park which is located north of Birmingham, and boasts wonderful limestone formations, an underwater pool, where you can enjoy some diving. The park also has a camping and picnic site, hiking trails, and an Olympic sized swimming pool. |
