Default Fishing Trip Alaska

I am planning for 6 nights Fishing Trip Alaska with my girl friend and we haven't been to there before. We plan to sightsee, and enjoy some fishing activities. We are hoping for a time with good season and not too much rain. Does anyone help about the season and good place for fishing in Alaska?

Fishing in Alaska is very interesting. My friend and I have been to Alaska last Jan. and we were very much enjoyed our trip. One of the most popular species we have seen there is halibut. The average halibut caught was 20-30 lbs. Pacific Halibut put up quite a fight, the big ones were very strong. Fishing season is on January. Seward, Alaska is famous for its silver, or Coho, salmon fishing. The Seward Silver Salmon Derby takes place the second week in August and is the largest fishing derby in the state. These salmon appear in the Resurrection Bay area in mid June and stick around until early fall. We are going again there for our New Year vacation.

We 4 of us have been to Alaska last year during the king salmon season. We went through Ninilchik Charters and they offer King salmon fishing trip with experienced guides. The Kenai and Kasilof rivers are the perfect fishing spots with motorboats. We had an opportunity to explore the wildlife, enjoyed the excellent volcanic mountain range and saw many popular fish species. We went in July, so I think you can also plan your trip during June or July. Have a nice journey!
