Alaska

Alaska, the 50th state, was last to join the United States but holds many exciting activities for all! Visit the capital, Juneau, and see the wildlife for those adventure lovers or experience culture with the home of the aboriginal people of Alaska in Fairbanks. From heli-skiing to glacier tours, Alaska brings cutting edge adventure and culture into one state.

Default Alaska Trip Report

Going on a much needed vacation to Alaska for some R&R from August 12-19. Looking forward to no computer and my cell phone off (with an occasional checking in but NOT MUCH!). I will report back and give a trip report in a few weeks.

Hey, this isn't going to be anything like Vegas, but maybe I will be inspired to bring a new Northern Exposure themed casino to the Strip....well, except for the fact that themed casinos in Vegas is sooooo 80s/90s
LOL!

Oh great...just as I am gearing to fly across the world to Alaska, this London thing happens...now I can't even bring my toiletries on the plane...actually it just reminds me that i better get a leak-proof bag for them so i don't get shampoo all over my clothes...

The thing that bugs me more is that I can't bring a bottle of water on the plane now...I dehydrate quickly, so I am always thirsty...yea, I know what you are thinking, "but you LIVE INVEGAS! In the middle of the desert!"...i know, but i always have my bottle of water on hand, and now i won't have that...this just makes this trip even more interesting I suppose...

since i am flying directly from the east coast, through chicago, through seattle into anchorage, i am anticipating a loooong day.....i will let ya know....

VE!

Maybe the airlines will give you double rations on water! Safe travels and enjoy Alaska. I've been there a few times while there's not much going on in Anchorage as soon as you get out of town the views are just big. the scale of everything in Alaska is big what we call a mountain they call a hill.

Here's a nice virtual tour (Girdwood Ski Area) and a list of things to do if you need any ideas :

NICE SEGUE!

I just had a thought..open up a franchise of vending carts located outside every major airport in the US and sell LIQUID DOPP KITS....toothpaste, shampoo, contact solution, etc....I will make a fortune!! You want in?
