seattle to anchorage

there are 4 of us who want to go from seattle to anchorage:

Option #1 by car and return by air or in reverse - cannot find someone to rent a car 1 way - any ideas

Option #2 by ship to Skagway then by car one way to anchorage and then fly to seattle - comments and how to get one way rental

hi there,

I personally think that getting a plane is the quickest and most cost effective way to get to Anchorage. Driving with a car rental would be too expensive and tiredsome. Anchorage is around 2,000 miles from Seattle.

Even getting a ferry or cruise to Anchorage would cost more than a plane ticket.

To give you an idea, you can expect to pay between $400 and $600, and summer time would be the best time to find deals there.
