| Hi there I am traveling to argentina in september 2007 and was hoping to go down to Ushuai? to look at some glaciers etc however now realise it is out of season. Is it still worth going - or is everything closed? What would be a good alternative? |

| Member Jr Member | Hi Megan, if you are looking for glaciers you might enjoy better El Calafate instead of Ushuaia. Both cities can be visited year round enjoying different views each season. Main excursions in both cities can be done year round. It worths visiting El Calafate and Ushuaia in winter but bring warm clothes!

| Hi Well it's going to be very cold and lots of places will be closed but people do travel there in the winter so it's not impossible. Some areas are good for skiing, around Bariloch for example. However I would consider doing Northern Argentina instead and perhaps even going to Brazil also. How long are you planning to go for? Are you traveling upscale or Budget? You might consider a sort of loop starting from Buenos Aires towards Codoba and then heading further to the Northwest to Salta, Cafayate and the areas attraction. Continue To Iguassu Falls, through Buenos Aires again, and from there you can continue to Rio and Brazil. Anyway, this is just a suggestion for an itinerary. |
