| Argentina Argentina is filled with lush rainforests, wild animals, and mountainous terrain. Transportation is key with such a large country, many tourists choose to take a train few travel by car. For the outdoor enthusiasts, Argentina is home to the Andes Mountains. Enjoy trekking trips, skiing or snowboarding. |

| Hello everybody! Nobody goes to Uruguay? ;)........I was wondering if I should post even though I don't see a forum, for the small country of Uruguay. So if any of you have information in relation to this country I'll much appreciate your input.I'm still working on my itinerary and I find that Uruguay has so many things in comon with its neighbors, across the riverplate. In your opinion, which are the most, conservatives areas of Uruguay, provinces(?),the ones you find with the most traditional sorroundingd, food, etc. As a very small country I'd figure it should not take too long to visit it in its totality. If you have been there for a long time,or you live presently, which are the provinces thet deserve a visit?.I've read some comments that Montevideo, although old its a very interesting place to visit. Thanks a bunch for any and all information you can supply..........Parigi |

| Hi Parigi, We don't start a forum until we've done a guide for the country. If you have the time I'd highly recommend added Uruguay to your places to see. There's a ferry you can take from Buenos Aires to Colonia from there travel up to Montevideo, Maldonado, and onto to Punta del Este which is known the world over for its beaches, nightlife, food, and friendly people. |

| Hi!! The typical route to do in Uruguay is Colonia / Montevideo / Punta del Este... but you can start at the small town of Carmelo (boats costs about $40 from Tigre, Buenos Aires) and then take buses to Colonia / Montevideo / then from Montevideo intead of going directly to Punta del Este you can make stops in the small summer villages of Atlantida, Piriapolis... not great beaches, but in summer they have large numbers of tourists from both countries (Arg / Uru)... nothing wow, but if willing to know different places, there you have some options... for the more conservative towns I would choose any city on the Uruguay River coats (Fray Bentos, Paysandu, Salto -hotsprings in the last one-)... If I've time, I wouldn't miss Cabo Polonio & Punta del Diablo, closer to the Brazilian border... enjoy!
