Post Day Trip to Grand Canyon

Hey everyone,

We'll be in Arizona for a week. Anyone got any good ideas for a Day Trip in Arizona? We're thinking a day at the Grand Canyon. Also, we're thinking of driving then taking a shuttles. Any advice?

eatravels,

When do you think you'll be in Arizona. If you haven't decided yet, October would be a great time to go on your trip. It's not too hot at that time of the year. Just park your car and catch one of the shuttles at each point to get around.

You probably won't be able to get much hiking in, maybe 1/2mile or so down the bright angel trail might be a good way to go. Or you can take the free shuttle west to Hermit's Rest and check out the views.

Default Re: Day Trip to Grand Canyon

My wife and I arrive in Denver from UK on May 22 and wish to drive through an ambitious loop: Colorado NM -> Hovenweep NM -> Rainbow Bridge NM -> Grand Canyon -> Sunst Crater -> Walnut Canyon -> Petrified Forest _ Painted Desert -> Canyon de Chelly -> Black Canyon of the Gannison (Painted Rock Cliff) -> back to Denver. We never did anything like it in the USA and have no idea how long such a journey might take, with visiting the main sites of each of the above but not walking too much (age limitations). Friendly advice will be much appreciated. Vitaly
