Default Atlantic City News

Apparently The Sands in AC is beign raized to make room for a new casino hotel. The new casino, owned by Pinnacle Entertainment, will have about 2000 rooms, a four hundred-fold increase over the existing Sands which has only 500 rooms

Although The Sands doesn't have a highly desired and vitally important connection to the famous boardwalk, the additional purchase of the land adjanct to it (site of the Traymore) will overcome this and connect them all

the Sands was probably one of the least visited and most rundown of the casinos in AC in my opinion. The restaurants were not great to downright bad, they had little or no custon=mer service, and they just failed miserably at upkeep. Here's hoping the new property is very classy!

Default New Casino in Bethlehem, PA

A New Casino from Las Vegas Sands Corporation Wins Approval to Build Hotel-Casino Complex in Bethlehem, Pennslyvania. The first phase, set to be completed in 2008, will feature 300 rooms, 200K square feet of retail, 3000 slot machines and home to the National Museum of Industrial History. MORE INFO HERE

Las Vegas Sands Corporation owns the Venetian Hotel and Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas

I am placing this infomation here as it will have an impact on both the Sands corpoation AND the AC market. The effects on the PA market will certainly be positive to the econmy there. Will this have any impact on PA travelers who frequent AC?

Smile Re: Atlantic City News

ED, you're right, this could present a problem for Atlantic City's Casinos.

Here's are a couple of key points.

1. The PA casinos will only be slot parlors with slot machines, they won't have any table games like craps, roulette, black jack etc

2. Atlantic City is gearing up to propose the Legalization of Sports Betting again. They believe they need an edge over these PA casinos.

3. The beaches are big asset along with the other new things happening in Atlantic City.

Take Care,

I was reading the other day that Pennsylvania is poised to become one of the biggest gambling states with their Pennsylvania Casinos but it will take years to rival AC or Vegas. http://www.travelmole.com/stories/11...e=searchresult

I know know about you but PennsylvaniaEd doesn't sound the same :)
