Arrow Bahamas cruises

Any tips on the best itineraries for cruises to the Bahamas? I know Florida is the usual departure point, but I've heard of Bahamas cruises from New York or New Orleans and am wondering where to start from. Also, where do they typically stop? Aside from big places like Nassau and Freeport, do they go to smaller islands as well? It would be cool to see Eleuthera or Bimini but not sure how that fits with the big cruise ships.

Thanks in adavnce for your help!

Default Best cruises to the Bahamas

Good question ... There are a lot of different options for Bahamas cruise itineraries, but most of them do focus on the larger ships, which means bigger ports of call. It's worth checking out some of the smaller operators for cruises (we have a list of operators here), or you could possibly book a one-way cruise, if that works with your schedule, probably out of Florida, and then travel to Bimini or Eleuthera or wherever else you'd like to visit on your own. We've got some extra tips on Bahamas cruises in our guide, plus facts about different things to do on the islands. Good luck with your planning!

Default Re: Bahamas cruises

It would be a lot of fun to leave from another port. It doesn't take all that long to get from Florida to the Bahamas. If you left from somewhere else, you would have more time to enjoy the ship and the ocean. I know that New Orleans has been working really hard to make its cruise port even bigger and better. Some of the major cruise lines have begun sailing from the Big Easy.
