top Belize ruins

I want to experience the best of Belize.. What ruins in Belize are the most easily accessible and popular Mayan ruins in Belize, and are also well-preserved?

There are plenty of Belize Maya ruins that are easy to reach and accessible. Bear in mind that guided tours of Belize Maya sites are available, though you won't always need a guide since Belize runs are quite easy to get to and explore on your own if you wish.

I think that the Belize Mayan temples in the northern and western part of the country are the best to visit and explore. In particular: Xunantunich site, which is located 70 miles west of Belize City; and Altun Ha site, which is one of the few Mayan site in Belize where you are allowed to climb to the top of the main pyramid!
