Bolivia

Myth, legends, and mystery fill Bolivia with ancient wisdom. Take a tour of Bolivia and stop at Lake Titicaca, the highest natural lake in the world. Visit the Capital city of La Paz with 21,000-foot tall peaks. Climb the mountains of Bolivia and experience the thrill of snow squalls, hidden crevasses, and thin air.

Default climbing cordillera real and travel to from Buenos Aires and Santiago

I plan to travel in SA for several months and would like to do some climbing in Bolivia while I'm there. Unfortunately, I don't arrive until late September and my flight is to Buenos Aires so I probably would not make it to the Bolivian Andes until early October. What is the weather like at this time of year? Is it too unstable to plan any big climbing trips or treks? Does anyone have recommendations for guides? How difficult is it to find (reliable) gear in Bolivia?

Also, if anyone has recommendations for travelling to/from Buenos Aires or Santiago from Bolivia (probably La Paz), I would much appreciate the advice. I don't mind taking the bus/train on the way to Chile or Argentina but think that, because of weather, I probably need to get to La Paz sooner rather than later. How does one find cheap flights to La Paz from Argentina or Chile--so far, the best I can find is $480 per person!

Thanks!
