| I am planning a trip to South America for mid-July. I was hoping someone could direct me to further information. I would like to know if it is possible to achieve the following from Bolivia and if so, how do I start this leg of the trip from La Paz or Cuzco and returning to either. How does going via Bolivia compare to say going thru Iquitos or Manaus in terms of time, transport access, money, and achieving the following below. I would like to know about the possibilities of achieving each aspect below and which area of Bolivia offer the best prospects: -jungle walk -piranha fishing-night caiman/anaconda spotting -colorful flora and fauna and birdwatching -local house jungle camp thank you |

| Hi there, It is around 2 hours flying time from La Paz in Bolivia to Manaus in Brazil. However, you will have to get a flight from La paz to Sao Paulo in Brazil and then get a domestic flight to Manaus which would cost in all at least $1000 if not more. La Paz is blessed with magnificent views of the tremendous, 21,000-foot tall peaks that look down upon it. The eastern side of the Andes is only a days' hike from La Paz. Most visitors to Bolivia, including climbers, usually spend a few days here to enjoy this intriguing plateau community. From here you can access Oruro, a lesser-known yet rich and thriving village a three-hour drive from La Paz, Bolivia. The Valle De La Luna, or the Valley of the Moon can only be described as a mythical landscape. Walk the narrow ridge through this park and marvel in the The church, built in 1549, is excellently preserved and is still in use in this predominately Catholic country. Manaus is the starting point of any traveler that wishes to discover the Amazon. At Manaus you can explore many options for your Amazon rain forest tours. Adventure/Travel, Eco-Tours, larger riverboat or small boat tours are some of the many options to choose from. Whatever your tastes, every tours highlight is the majesty of the rain forest. Hope this helps VacationBuddy |
