best nightlife in Rio de Janeiro

We're flying out to Rio late September and im so excited to going to Brazil I can't wait! where can we find the best nightlife in Rio de Janeiro and places where local hang out?

hi there,

Copacabana is very cool to hang out but it gets very, very busy here, so I would suggest checking out Ipanema, instead. Ipanema is trendier than Copacabana so clubs and bars are more expensive.

One cool place where you can catch locals hanging out is the Lapa area in Rio's Centre. The City Center is home to some of the best places to catch samba performances.

The Gamboa zone is another good downtown area where you can find some of the best nightlife in Rio de Janeiro because of the many live music venues.
