|  hiking in Rio de Janeiro hello, would you advise venturing out on our own to go hiking in Rio de Janeiro? Where do you suggest hiking and finding peaks to hike up? |

|  Re: hiking in Rio de Janeiro hello, If it's your first time hiking in Rio de Janeiro, it'd be a good idea to hire a guide, especially if you're concerned about safety. However, if you do want to make it on your own, I would suggest hiking within the city itself where you will find the Tijuca Forest and some fantastic peaks to hike up such as the Corcovado Mountain, which is among the best peaks in the city to go hiking on. If you do intend to hike the Corcovado Mountain, you can pick up the trail in Parque Lage near the Botanical Gardens. |
