My wife and I are planning to getaway in late winter to Brazil and we're looking for a beach vacation spot where we can relax, go out to dinner and catch live music. we've looked at Copacabana and Ipanema so I appreciate any other suggestions..thanks

If you're looking for a relaxing beach spot in Brazil, you will love Buzios. I went there early this year and had a terrific time. There are many lovely beaches in Buzios that you can visit, and you can either use car rental or taxis, though we found taxis cheaper and easier. One of the top beaches in Buzio, you don't want to miss is Praia Geriba, which has good rolling surf, small waves, and shallow and clear waters ideal for snorkeling.

The isles of Morro de Sao Paulo and Boipeba, both car-free, offer real nice beaches. The beach of Barra (here in Salvador) was elected 3rd most beautiful beach in the world by the British newspaper the Guardian in 2007

a few years ago i went to a beach called Jericoacoara which was about 5 hours bus from Fortaleza. this beach was absolutely stunning, completely empty and so remote that it was cool venturing out to... Saying this, i think brazil has some amazing beaches.

I would like to suggest two of my favourites: Touros and Garopaba. Touros is at fishing village about two hours north of Natal and it's a cool place for a relaxing vacation on the unspoilt beautiful sands. Garopaba is located in Santa Catarina and it's one of the hippest surf resorts in Brazil.

The best beaches in Brazil? Wow... They are so many gorgeous beaches there and I wouldn't know how to pick under 5 of those! Buzios, Morro de Sao Paulo, Praia do Forte, Itacare, Fernando de Noronha, Trancoso, Porto de Galinhas, Copacabana, Marau, Arraial D’Ajuda, Pipa's Beach (Praia de Pipa), etc...
