Carnival in Brazil

Rio is the most famous celebration, but what about the other locations? Where can we expect to find the party going for Carnival 2012 in Brazil outside of Brazil?

You're right that Rio is the most famous. But the party is too big to contain in one place. There are several other places throughout Brazil that celebrate Carnival. I'll post some links below.

Samba
Olinda
Sao Paulo

what about San Diego? the city will be hosting their 20th Annual San Diego Brazilian Mardi Gras between 18th and 19th of Feb at 4th & B the best Carnival venue on the West Coast.

I was there last year and plan to go again this time...you should too! It features Carnival Bands, Capoeira, Parades, Mardi Gras Beads, and lots of dancers in glittering costumes adorned in sequins and beads.

for me, Olinda its the best carnival in Brazil, then Rio and Salvador. I love Fortaleza but unfortunelty the carnival there doesn't give you the best view of this amazing celebration.
