| Hi. My wife and I are contemplating a cruise on the Amazon that is supposed to get to Manaus. We were told that the ship could not get that far up due to low waters last year. We were wondering if there is any indication this year that the water levels will be too low. We know there are no guaratees but some chance is better than no chance. Thanks for your input. | Hi Bill, It wouldn't count on this trip it looks to be another drought year in the upper Amazon basin. A recent article points to this: A disaster to take everyone's breath away - 24 Jul 2006 - World News You may want to confirm you have trip cancellation insurance Happy Travels, Jack |
