LA new years eve party spots

has anyone been to Los Angeles to ring in the new year? is LA best spot in So Cal to spend new years eve? if so, what are the party spots?

I wouldn't say LA is the best new years eve spot in So Cal, I think San Diego is as you'll find plenty more new years events than in LA. In Los Angeles, you only have the Rose Bowl Parade going on and that's it pretty much.

If you want to get good spots for the Rose Bowl Parade, you can either get up really early and be there no later than 6 a.m, or camp out a couple of days in advance to get a prime spot along the parade route. The parade is Jan. 1 at 8am while the Rose Bowl kicks off at 1:30pm.

To find the best party spots, hit the beach cities like Manhattan and Hermosa. For instance, Manhattan Beach will have a small street party at 12th and Highland downtown, while Hermosa has a gathering at the Pier with bands.
