Default 10 days for 10 years! Anniversary trip to Cali Sept 2010!

My husband and I have vacationed many places, but have never been to California. We love to cruise, been to the Outer Banks more times than I can count, and have done the all inclusives to Mexico, been to Vegas, etc.
We want to do something we have never done before and we are excited to spend 7 days along the CA coast, including LA, San Francisco and Napa Valley and then finish off with 3 days in Vegas! We plan to rent a convertible and stay at different and exciting places during our week.
We have NO IDEA where to stay, so anything you can recommend is greatly appreciated. We are 34 years old and both work in the banking industry. We like to dance, enjoy alcoholic beverages, love the beach, and hang out where the locals do!
Thanks again for your suggestions!
Sincerely,
Couple from O-H-I-O!

Hi couple from O-H-I-O,

If excitement and hanging out with the locals it’s what you are after, California will not disappoint you. Why not start your vacation in San Francisco and visit the Golden Gate Bridge and take a cable ride around the city.

While you there, you can also tour the wineries and sample great wines in Napa Valley

Los Angeles will not disapoint you either. You can stroll past Hollywood Boulevard and see the Hollywood Hall of fame. While you there also check out Venice beach where you can enjoy lovely alcoholic beverages and have a pleasant night out with your hubby.

Hope this helps

whats your budget? I've staying at places anywhere from $100 to $300 per night. You looking for a homebase and do day trips or rent a car and hit a couple destinations?

Hi! I would like to stay right around $100 a night. Most important to us is location than room size. Somewhere safe but by some fun spots! We plan to rent a car and stay in a different locations for 2-3 nights, or a neutral home base wouldn't be a bad idea either. Looking around LA for a night, San Fran for a 2-3 nights, and Napa for 2-3, or anywhere else if it looks fun! Then we plan to drive to Vegas for 3 nights!
