California

The state of California is largest state in the US. Home to Disneyland, Napa Valley wineries, the Old Faithful Geyser, and more. It has small towns like Carmel providing its unique charm and larger cities like Los Angeles. Visit Yosemite National Park, surf in the Pacific Ocean or go to one of the many ski resorts.

Default Northern California

Not sure how much help I can be, but I spent most of my life dominating in Northern California! I think it's a great area and I hate seeing it be ignored so much in favor of SoCal (except for SF, maybe). There's a lot of good stuff north of Sacramento that nobody knows about!

Great to hear from you Ryder! So what makes it such a great area? Can you share some secret spots, highlights to see, more details please.

Have a good one,
Dan

Testifying: Sacramento has the absolute coolest and hottest women in california...no doubt..like my friend Monica, whom you should meet

Yosemite is my favorite place on earth!

Trivia Ties to VEGAS: You all know that the Maloofs own the Sac Kings AND The Palms INVEGAS right?
1. Who knows which brothers run which which companies?
2. How did the Maloofs make all their family money?
3. Where is the NBA All-Star going to played in 2007?

anyone? anyone? Bueller?

Ok, I'm going to take a guess at this.

1. Joe Maloof runs the Kings and George runs the Palms.
2. They make all of their money from Coors Beer which expanded into a group of diversified companies.
3. Las Vegas will be the host to the All-Star 2007.

Am I right???

I'm from NorCal myself and can attest to it being a great area. Not so much for specific attractions though, people go to NorCal (or should go to NorCal) because everything moves so much slower than the areas south of SF. I think it really gives California something that many other states don't have: a dual personality. Go to northern California to unwind, to camp, and to experience the natural beauty of the state that all-too-often gets forgetten in everyone's "California is just a bunch of surfers and celebrities" mindset.

The population density is more sparse, and they've got everything from the Wine Country (Napa and surrounding area) to the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the southern Cascades. You have the very underrated coastline and its more mediterranean climate and you have the famous Redwoods.

Oh yeah, and of course there's Sierra Nevada Beer. Despite the list above, that's typically the selling point. Go to my hometown of Chico and visit the brewery for a tour and a lunch. If you're lucky my man Casey will take your order (or pour your beer) and can tell you about my prowess on the wiffleball field. ;)

Hey Joe,

Your passion for wiffleball shows in this site. http://www.wiffleball2k.com/ one of the leading wiffelball sites out there. I clicked on tutorials thinking you would show me how to play wiffleball and I get web tutorials. Huh?

Well, I wasn't gonna plug myself, but since you started, let me finish with a direct plug to to my Hall of Fame page for further proof of former wiff excellence.

We can now resume our discussion on the majesty of Northern California.

Although I haven't spent much time in Northern California, it's a very beautiful place to be. I have done a little bit of camping there, and loved it. Matt, unfortunately I don't know of any romantic b&b's there, but if you decide where you are going to ride, you can usually find websites for those cities and they usually have details for visitors on those sorts of things. If they don't you can always contact them and they should have some ideas. Good luck!

By the way, what part of Oregon are you from? I'm a little north of you in Alberta, but have been to Oregon. It's beautiful! It actually reminds me a lot of home. :o)
