|  Yosemite Half Dome Permit Yosemite National Park will begin requiring day-use permits for the Yosemite Half Dome climb when the cables are put back up in May. The Yosemite Half Dome permit will only be required on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays as well as on holidays. Permits are available by advance reservation only, and are free of charge, apart from a $1.50 non-refundable service charge for each one. Reservation months are as follows: -Permits for May and June will be available on March 1. -Permits for July and August will be available for reservation on April 1. -Permits for September and October will be available on May 1.
