Hollywood Sign tours

During our trip to LA, we'd like to visit the famous Hollywood Sign and I hear you can enjoy tours of this landmark. What can you learn with this tours? and is there a way to glimpse at the landmark on our own?

Hi there,

Yes, you can enjoy a Hollywood Sign tour, and two of the interesting historical facts you learn about the landmark are that the sign started out as Hollywoodland but Hollywood Sign dropped the "land" tag in the 1940s.

You'll also learn about the suicide of actress Peg Entwistle, who jumped to her death off of the sign's letter H.

For viewing the landmark on your own, there are some popular vantage points that offer renowned views. These include:

- Mulholland Drive
- The renowned Griffith Park Observatory.

You can also drive up Beachwood Canyon Drive whose road winds its way through the Hollywood Hills, and the sign is in full view the whole way up.
