| hey guys, i am planning a trip to South east Asia for 2 months and I was wondering if Cambodia would be the best place for a home base for seeing lots of SE Asia? We're on a budget though we might want to go to Australia and New Zealand as well. is this realistic? |

| I think that Singapore is one of the best places to base for seeing lots of South East Asia since it's close to Malaysia and Indonesia so, you'll be able to get a cheap airfare from Singapore to places such as Bali where you will absolutely love spending time relaxing by the beach. Another point regarding flying out from Singapore is that you may find even cheaper airfare if you leave from places such as Johor Baharu or Kuala Lumpur which aren't that far from Singapore. Therefore, before booking flights out from Singapore compare prices. When visiting Malaysia, I'd suggest taking a bus from Singapore (rather than flying) to Johore Bahru and KL as it will work out cheaper. Once in KL, don't forget to visit Chinatown, Jalan Petaling or Jalan Masjid India for great flea market-type shopping. |
