| hi there, The town of Banff is actually located in Banff National Park, and the town itself is a charming, rustic mountain hamlet that is a great base for exploring the mountains, visiting Lake Louise, and doing some Banff skiing. There are great options for hotels in Banff, and this quaint town is one of the best choices in which to stay during your trip to the Canadian Rockies. Since you're keen on doing some Banff skiing, there are three world-renowned ski resorts in the immediate area of Banff. These include: Sunshine Village, Lake Louise Ski Area, and Mount Norquay. You can rent ski equipment in the town of Banff and in Lake Louise, and the ski resorts themselves also provide ski and snowboard rentals. Hope this helps Vacationbuddy

| Moderator Jr Member | Banff is an excellent choice for Canadian Rockies vacations. There are tons of resorts and hotels located in and around the state park. It's well stocked for being so far north; the town is perfectly primed for vacations. The skiing is pretty great here too. y friend visited on her honeymoon and just loved it.

| The three major ski areas in Banff are Lake Louise, Sunshine, and Mt Norquay. Check their websites for information on lift tickets etc. A great deal you can get is the Tri-Area Lift Ticket, which is valid at all three ski areas; it includes a free ski shuttle from Banff to the ski area of your choice. Btw, Mt Norquay is the smaller resort with only four chair-lifts, but it's only 15 minutes away from Banff; while Sunshine Village Resort and Lake Louise Mountain Resort are located 30 and 50 minutes respectively from Banff. |
