Smile driving up to Quebec

Well, I am thinking of driving up to Montreal and Quebec City from Maine.

Anyone been to either city recently? Any suggestions about traveling in Canada these days?

Love to hear some thoughts! Recommendations for places to stay and things to do!

Both Montreal and Quebec City are great places to visit and have a great time, though I recommend Quebec City because of the historic districts, restaurants and opportunities for outdoor activities very close by.

You can go up to Mont Saint Anne and take the lift to the top for scenic views of the entire Charlevoix region. After, you can check out other nearby attractions such as the cathedral of St Anne de Beaupre and the Cap Tourmente.

Accommodation-wise, there are nice hotels to stay in the lower town area of Quebec City such as the Auberge Le Petit Sejour in Chateau-Richer.

Have a great time!

I've been to both Montreal and Quebec (live in NH) and agree with previous poster that Quebec is a little more interesting than Montreal. We stayed at the Hotel Vieux Quebec in Upper Town and loved it and the location. Old Quebec is very walkable so you really don't need your car at all. Lots of shops and restaurants. We took a trip to the Montmorency Falls which was fun too. On the way, we stopped at the town of Magog/Orford which was a lovely town on a lake. We stayed at Auberge Aux 4 Saisons in Orford which was very nice. Have fun!
