| Hey, I was wondering if anyone has had ever tried to go to the U.S. with a minor criminal record? I've heard some horror stories about people getting turned away. Any advice from the other travellers, whats the deal, how do they know???? Thanks |

| How minor? Don't think the authorities in the US are interested in harboring petty criminals, but don't risk not applying for a US visa! You will get caught. The UK and US share information that declares whether you have a criminal record, so if you get found out you will be put on the next flight back.

| I would give yourself extra time at the border. If you're patient and friendly with the border crossing people, it will go much better. And try to cross the border at a time when it's not as crowded. If the border agent is happy, you might have a better chance of crossing. |
