Lightbulb November travel to Canada

I plan to visit Toronto in November. However, our main reason for going is to see the snow and hopefully ski. Will there be enough snow in Toronto, or somewhere close by where we wil be able to ski/snow board?

There is a really handy tool online which lets you check the weather in Toronto day by day. This will let you see how the weather is leading up to your trip. During winter Toronto’s weather conditions are much harsher than you could expect. The city receives its first snow during late August, and continues to receive deposits of snow through out the rest of the winter. The average minimum temperatures are around -1 degree Celsius, and the average maximum temperatures are around 16 degrees Celsius. You’ll feel the cold when visiting Toronto during the winter, although Toronto’s weather conditions make it an excellent destination if you want to go on a ski trip.

As for Ski-ing and Snowboarding there is a fantastic resort called Blue Mountain in Ontario. This would be a 2 hour drive from Toronto but would be well worth a visit. Here they dont only offer fabulous slopes but various other activities such as paint balling, golf and much more.

WOW that is crazy, I knew it got pretty cold there, but I didnt expect temperatures to be that cold!! However, I have never seen the snow (I live in Florida) and I am looking forward to it! Thank you for your help! Are there any other fun things to do while visiting during the winter?

I am not from Toronto, however there may or may not be snow in November. You will need mountains and I don't think there are any close by Toronto. Good Luck

Kimberley is a welcoming family resort tucked away in the south-eastern corner of British Columbia. It is a 15-minute drive away from the newly expanded Canadian Rockies International airport at Cranbrook with its short connecting flight from Calgary. Alternatively, a four-hour drive from Calgary winds through the spectacular scenery of two of Canada’s most famous National Parks.

Yes, you can find snow in Toronto itself. I went there last year in december, snow there is too heavy and in night the cold storms are at high speed. We really enjoyed that trip.

Wink Re: November travel to Canada

Hi Folks I am Canadian and live about 1 hour west of Toronto.
First, I'd like to corrrect a few inaccurate statements:

A) Toronto (or for that matter any where in Ontario) does NOT get snow in August. That is our summer and temps range from about 24 degrees celsius to 30 degrees celcius

B) Snow in Toronto in November is quite unlikely and certainly not enought to do anything in

c) there are now mountains in Toronto. To ski you would need to go about 2 hours north of Toronto. The ski resorts make snow and groom the hills earlier than when mother nature gives enough to ski on.

D) Skiing at the resorts North of Toronto are not at the same calibrre as skiing at the resorts in British Columbia, Albert or Montreal.

Hope this helps :)

November is the ideal time to visit Toronto if you are so much interested to enjoy heavy snowfall and related activities. Go ahead and enjoy your time.
