We're want to explore the Cockpits on a hiking tour and I wanted to ask a few questions so I hope you could give me an idea:

whats best time for hiking the Cockpits? How do you get there? how much do hiking tours cost per person on average?

The Cockpits are actually not far from Montego Bay and can be reached in under 50 minutes. The best time to explore Cockpit country is in the mornings because the hills are still misty and cool.

If you're planning on camping in Cockpit country, the winter season is the best time as the weather will be much cooler and pleasant.

Hiking tours cost around $25 per day per person, and include your guide. Food and water can be purchased but if you are only going on a day hike, it is best to bring them with you.

A few tips about the Cockpit though:

-Don'’t attempt to hike the Cockpit Country alone as you can become hopelessly lost.
-Do use a local guide and bring enough water and provisions with you.
