If I wanted some activity that involved the volcano, which island should I go to?

Yes, of course, as Patric said Dominica is a volcanic island and has 7 extinct volcanoes. The last convulsion of nature happened in 1880 and left the second largest Boiling Lake in the world.

Some volcanic activity also currently exists in Montserrat, and this island is entirely volcanic in origin and contains seven active volcanoes.

I was so pleased we took the chance to go to Grenada. Grenada is an amazing eco-destination once you get out of St Georges. As previously mentioned their dollar is almost on a 3:1 ratio which isn't bad. We didn't find the prices there to be expensive at all.

The North was remarkable, but again you have to take a drive. There was fantastic snorkeling and the beaches there are to die for, specially Sandy Island, with Shadow Fax. ( Very cool 66ft Catamaran)

I also think Carriacou, in the Grenadines is an amazing island. It's only a water ferry away from St. Georges and isn't that crowded. Most of the island is undeveloped, I found this website pretty helpful, when I called, grenada info and activities .com

Cat Island is a great place to travel. Fishing and snorkeling is wonderful. Stay in a house for more privacy.
