Beijing 2008 accommodation

With the 2008 Olympic Games drawing near, the host city Beijing, which is in full-fledged preparations for the gigantic party, has already step into the global spotlight. What are your expectations about the event? What improvement do you think is most needed to make a successful gathering? Have you found your ideal lodging place in Beijing?

I'm not paying much attention to the Olympics. I think they should reduce the pollution and change the goverment.

If I were going to Beijing, I'd pick a not-too-expensive hotel most likely. But I have other travel plans.

Either a family hotel or an apartment. I'd prefer the latter since me and my buds can get a bit rowdy at home.

There's some apartments available for them who plans to come Beijing this August.Compareed with the star hotels it really a good bargain.

That's correct. However the prices for apartments seem to be higher than usual mainly because of the event. Especially those who set prices using different currencies like dollars. It would be a big help if you know someone who lives in the area that could offer suggestions (or probably let you stay with them). ;)
