China

China is home to some of the richest history and tradition in the world. You can view modernity in the large cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. You can also see monuments and proof of cultural history, like the Great Wall of China and the Silk Road. Finally, there's no shartage of natural wonders, such as the Himalayas (more specifically Mt. Everest) and the Yangtze River.

Guilin has always been in China for its scenery with historical and cultural relics. It enjoys the reputation that Guilin has the best scenery under heaven.

The scenery of Guilin is unlike that of any other city on Earth. Its peaks rise as suddenly from the Earth as trees in a forest, these craggy peaks and pillars of limestone must have been the models for the traditional landscapes painted for centuries on silk scrolls.

Located in the northeast of Guangxi, it has population over 600,000, consists of main 4 ethnic groups, such Zhuang, Miao, Yao and Dong, living in the area of 565 square kilometers. Because of the subtropical location, the climate of Guilin is humid, wet with a rich rainfall, the annual average temperature is 19C, the coldest month with average 4-8C, and the hottest month is from 26 to 30C. it is very nice weather for tourists all the year around.

Guilin refers to Osmanthus trees forest, as all over the place is filled with this kind of trees, and the blooming season is between late September to early November

The first emperor of a united China, Qin Shihuang established a garrison here when he made a military expedition to the south in 214 BC. He later developed the transport center with the buildings of the Ling Canal, which linked the important Zhu River (flowing east to East Sea) and Xiang River, then to Yangtze River Systems. Under Ming dynasty was the capital, a status it retained until 1914 when the capital was transferred to Nanning.

In the long history, the picturesque area has attracted many visitors, painters, artists, poets and left more than 2000 pieces of stone and wall inscriptions and carvings. You can find these historical sites and leftovers almost everywhere in Guilin, in 1985, it was regarded as one of the top 10 scenic spots, next only to the Great Wall in the country as well as one of four major tourist cities in the country promoted by the WTO to the world.

Rubber, medicine, electronics, machinery, light industry and works of fine arts are the main manufacturing industry that helps set up the city's industrial system.

Guilin possesses five famous virtues: spectacular caverns, pretty rock promontories, fragrant osmanthus, green hills and clear waters. Guilin is a beautiful city with hospitable and peace-love people.

If you want you make a tour to China, and fail to pay a visit to Guilin, it is equal to having no tour to China. If you want to get something real out of it you can not but go experiencing it yourself, and you are advised not to lose the chance maybe only once of a lifetime.

What I don't like with tours, it's that they organise innercity visit.
But Guilin is an ininteressant city by itself, only the scenery is worthy.
