| Costa Rica The diverse landscapes of Costa Rica allow for great outdoor activities like white water rafting and relaxing at the Tabacon Hot Springs. Explore the Arenal Volcano and view the fiery red glow from the summit. Drive to the Monte Verde Cloud Forest to see the exotic environment and pass through the city of La Fortuna. |

| My wife and I hope to travel to Costa Rica the second or third week of this May. I have only been to Costa Rica once before, when I took my two sons in late November-early December 2005. On that trip we went south by car and stayed in San Gerardo de Dota (Trogon Lodge) and the southern Pacific Coast area near Ballena Marine Park and Uvita. We enjoyed the beauty of those places and appreciated that they were not at all crowded with other tourists. I would appreciate any advice that might help me arrange our trip in early May so that we go somewhere: (1) nice and green, not brown and dry and (2) not very crowded. I haven't been to the places north and west of San Jose (like Monteverde), so I can't compare to where we went before, south of San Jose. We once went to southern Mexico (Oaxaca region) in April, and I remember that there was hardly a green leaf to be seen. It rained a little when we went late in November, but not too much to enjoy it. What might we expect in early-mid May? Thanks for any information, advice or specific suggestions! |
